Grizzly Bear and the xx are teaming up for a string of co-headlining shows, and we here in the DC area are lucky they’re making their seventh and final stop at Merriweather Post Pavilion. With both bands’ 2012 releases on our various year-end lists, you can guess just how excited we are about this announcement.
We can imagine you’re equally as thrilled, and we have something that will make you even happier: the chance to win a pair of lawn tickets before the show even goes on sale!
To enter, all you have to do is reblog this tumblr post and send us a message with your email address so that we can contact you if win. (Please enter only if you live in the DC/MD/VA area and would be able to attend the show.)
A winner will be randomly chosen this Thursday evening, so make sure you enter soon!
Luck of the draw wasn’t on your side? Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. through Ticketfly!
Here’s how this is going to go down. As I said, for each $5 you donate, you get one entry. Prior to 12am PST on 11/14/12 I had received $1,085 in donations (HOLY CRAP). All donations were entered into a google spreadsheet and assigned a number in order of donation. I am happy to share the spreadsheet with anyone who wishes to see it.
I asked a few times for those who donated anonymously to make themselves known if they want to be included in the raffle. Two of those people contacted me, the others have not, thus will not be included. In addition, one donor asked to be removed from the drawing. This leaves 206 entries remaining.
I will use random.org to pick a winner, just as I did last year, and post a screen cap of the selection. This will be a one shot deal with no test runs. Good luck!
And, the winner is:
Jaime Morgan! I’ll contact you arrange the handoff. Congrats!
I was rummaging through one of the beer fridges Friday night and I made a discovery. I don’t have a bottle of 2010 Dark Lord. I have a bottle of 2009 Dark Lord. So, uhhhh…. DONATE!
Here we are, folks! Another November, another Mo. My goal last year was a meager $100. That was quickly blown out of the water in a single donation. I ended up raising close to $1000 for testicular and prostate cancer research.
This year, I want to hit that $1000 mark. Of course, it feels good to donate money to a worthy cause, but what if you got something out of it too? Last year I raffled off a bottle of 2009 Three Floyds Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout.
How ‘bout another round?
Here’s the deal… From Nov. 1-14, make a $5 donation and you are entered to win a bottle of 2010 Dark Lord. $10, two entries, $15, so on and so on. Sound good?
If you have already donated, you’re in. No need to donate again.
So, let’s MO!
an addendum… if you donate anonymously and still want to be in on the raffle, please contact me. i don’t want to leave you out!
another addendum… i’m trying to publicly thank everyone who donates. if you don’t see a public thank you, it’s because i don’t know you! so please, let me know how i can contact you in case you win!
another addendum! i realize some folks may not be in the lower 48. I REALLY REALLY can’t afford to ship alcohol overseas or outside the lower 48. If you are outside the lower 48, have donated, and want to withdraw your donation, i completely understand!

Being a member of my band, lamb of god, has provided me with many different experiences. Some are incredibly exhilarating, such as watching one of my best friends jump out of an airplane right in front of me, then eight terrified seconds later following him into free fall high above the Nevada…

It’s 2012 now, the year some are saying the Mayan calendar predicts a cataclysmic upheaval across the board for our planet, perhaps even the end of the world as we know it. I don’t know if these doomsday predictions have any validity, but I do know one thing: the potential candidates in the race…
